Extended Coverage

Recently received a letter from my local BMW dealership offering me an extended warranty. My car is a 2016 435 xdrive with 30,000 miles. Any experience with these warranties? Are they worth it? I haven't called yet as I wanted to hear from you guys before I call and most likely get hassled about purchasing a plan. Thanks!

Warranties statistically cost you more than they pay out. Its just a matter of your risk tolerance.

I was quoted $4000 for 2 years of CPO warranty extension, so you know what to expect.

$4,000 for additional 2 years of CPO warranty seems a bit high.

Third party options out there too. I'm buying a Route 66 warranty through my credit union. 5 years up to 120k miles for $3,000. I linked a brochure with coverage information in that thread.

I have a 2016 F31 with 38K miles. I went through a local BMW dealer this spring for a CNA warranty that has pretty good coverage. We worked on a plan that fits my currently annual mileage. Since I keep cars 10 years, I got a total of 10 years/92K miles for $5K.
