Phone calls on Bluetooth can be heard outside
I noticed a new issue on my 2019 X3 M40i. Recently my wife was on a call in the car and I stepped out to get something and noticed that I could hear her conversations loudly from outside the car. The a/c was on and all windows rolled up but still I could hear everything loud and clear from outside. Does this mean something is wrong with insulation? Is this a common issue as I did not have such issues with my previous BMW and other cars. Any suggestions and pointers will help. I am thinking of taking it to my dealer to have it checked.....please share your experience and solutions if any....

I generally find this is the same with most cars to be honest. It all depends on the volume you have your speakers set too. I have had Audi's, BMW's, Mercedes and all have been same with regards to telephone conversations.

I've seen this from all different car brands. Just depends on how high you have the volume turned up for the call.

It's normal. And there's nothing wrong with the "insulation". BMW will tell you to turn the volume down and have a good day.
Have you ever come to a stop light and heard the conversation of someone else on the phone in their car with the windows up? It depends on how loud you have it. |

I literally hear multiple cars phone calls from random people in the parking lot in the morning or at lunch time and Im several feet away. Its normal. Not a BMW defect.

We have the same experience in our Honda minivan, and have had that same issue all the years we've owned those vans. Same with my 5er before and same with the X3. It's just how it is. At least now you're aware of it, so when you pull up to people, you'll know to turn it down if you're talking about stuff you don't want anyone to hear. Or switch it to speaker mode on your phone...

Turn the volume down instead of blaring it lol. This happens to every car, occupants keep phone call volumes so high you can hear it beside the car sitting at a traffic light.
This is user error, not a problem with the X3.
