Interior knee pads

While doing longer journeys me knee is mostly resting beside the mid console. However, that part is hard plastic. It looks like that part can easily be replaced with a softer part. Anybody has experience with something like a soft knee pad?

I agree. It's most uncomfortable.
Would be good to understand how easy it is to remove and cover in some soft padded leather

About 30 seconds to remove but not sure about the covering bit.

Xsapper ,

Would you be kind enough to provide info as to where to get them -- perhaps a link?

They are OEM therefore from your dealer. They come with the Performance CF interior which has 6 parts. In the UK I paid £750 for the kit but not sure if you can order them separately or if there are 3rd party versions available. There are currently some on E-bay quite cheap so also have a look there if you intend to purchase and cover yourself. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-3-G20...temCondition=4

I did a removal guide which is in the DIY section:

They are like the standard trim but covered in Alcantara. No dry carbon on these parts.

Xsapper ,

That would be great for at least driver (I'm in US so it's the left hand side).

I followed the link and asked the eBay seller said it was matt black, & he saw no padding on the trim.

is it a part number difference?

That’s a very interesting option. Does somebody has the full merino interior? I understood that the kneepads can be in leather, but not sure how soft they are ...

IMO I don't think that ones that are part of the performance CF kit are any more padded than the standard ones. They are just covered in Alcantara that may give a slightly better feel.

The interior is the same, should fit out of the box

The interior is not exactly the same. The sides of the of the console on the 4 series go higher up andy are different shaped vs the G20. Doubt they will fit.

Again look at the shape...it's different from the G20 and won't fit.

True, shape is different (raising sooner, and flat when it reaches the dash) but the cover of the cup holders looks the same. It wouldn’t surpeise me that the clip fitment is still the same. Let’s see when those cars are arriving at the dealers.

According to ETK both the G20 and G22/G23 share the same console pieces. I looked up the VIN from my car this is what came up. I want to retrofit the black leather pads.
