Radiator fan not turning on

Hello,

Was hoping to get any insight on an issue I've been having on my 2014 435xi. When the car sits idle or I'm driving in the heat the car will overheat. I took it to a local shop, they said they could get power to the radiator fan but they could not get it to turn on. I checked the fuses and they look ok, other than that the car is fine, AC blows cold.

Is there anything else I could check?

Thank you!

If the shop was able to get continuity at the fan but the fan isn't spinning, it would appear you need to replace the fan controller, maybe the whole assembly. What did the local shop quote you to fix it?

Can't buy the controller separately. It's a single part built with the fan assembly and shroud. You have to buy a new fan. I went through the same thing a couple months ago. Even changed the coolant sensor that triggers the thermostat, but it was definitely the fan.

There's a NJ dealer that sells it new sub $700 and free shipping on eBay. F3x use the same part number.

Lifetime warranty on all parts fcp sells.

This is for my engine...yours will probably be different, but I'm sure there's a fan for less than $700 for you. This one was $2xx.

Didn't know that, that's good info!
