Cheap flights from Glasgow?
A friend in England was looking at flying from Manchester to Paris in August with sleazyjet, but it was about £300 per person return. Then I noticed that she could fly from Glasgow to Paris on the same dates with the same airline for about £50 per person return. She is a little closer to Manchester, but not such a difference.
As far as I can tell there is no particular (perhaps Covid-related) reason not to choose Glasgow. Both England and Scotland have France on their 'safe list' so no quarantine required. I appreciate that Scottish schools go back in August a week after she flies out, but I'm still surprised at the price difference being a factor of 6. Have we missed something significant? |

When our children were younger we regularly flew out of Glasgow or Edinburgh on holiday which would save us hundreds over flying from Manchester our closest airport, even with a hotel the night before at the airport.
And yes I think it was because of the difference in school holidays. |

Yes. It is the case.
It why is Scots find it cheaper to fly from Manchester at the beginning of the holidays - Scottish schools finish before England. Common for English people to fly from Glasgow / Edinburgh / Prestwick when Scottish schools go back. Not sure if all flights up and running yet though. |
