Rimgard Wheel Locks installed.......

Really impressed by these. Hopefully they never get tested! But if they do I feel rather confident

I like the idea, and they definitely look sturdy. I have 2 issues with them though:

1: Appearance. They kinda mess up the look of the wheel.

2. No aftermarket support. People steal OEM rims... sure. But they steal high $$$ aftermarket rims much more.

My thoughts on this have always been "if the thief wants it bad enough... he's going to get it". That's what insurance is for.

I kinda like the way the black Rimgard breaks up the spokes on the wheel. Each to their own though

I liked your video review; very well done. I don't see how you can get any better wheel security than this... unless you have your car parked in a locked garage with an armed guard, of course. All in all it makes me very happy that I live in a city where wheel theft is not currently a real issue!

Agreed...

Years ago I had a $3500 set of Momo's on my car, along with 2 different sets of lug nut locks.

They still got my rims... Of course, they took the whole car out of a parking lot, up to a deserted street nearby, and spent the time getting my rims. The PD found my car the very next day, in almost perfect shape, with nothing else missing but the rims.

I say "in almost prefect shape" because they were kind enough to drop the car on its brake rotors & drums once they got the rims off. So there was some damage that needed repairing. I think that was their "F- you, smartass" gift to me.

Yeah, insurance covered it all. And I haven't been tempted by aftermarket rims since. But I do still use lug nut locks... You want these rims? Go find another stock car like mine and take theirs!

I have cousins that served time for auto theft. OEM wheels where not the hot target. Too hard for them to fence. Aftermarket wheels is where the thief hit.

The center lock looks pretty solid, but can't a thief break all 5 star spokes off using the right tools?
