F30 cruise control failure

I'm new to the forum and having Abit of trouble with my new car (330d f30) hoping for Abit of advise, I've seen a few similar threads but basically I get this warning every so often when it happens all steering wheel functions stop (volume, phone, cruise etc) the error clears itself after about a minute and all functions work as normal again, I've read it can be the slip ring that needs changing, would it be a dodgy connection on the slip ring itself or is there some wiring that could have a bad connection too that needs changing too?

Thanks in advance for any help

It could be as simple as a loose connection where the switch wiring plugs in to the column.

Can I get to them if I take the airbag off or does the wheel need to come off too?
Thanks

Once you get the airbag off, pulling the steering wheel is maybe a 5 min job.
(I think it's a 16mm socket). The biggest caution is undoing the battery before you do.

You only need to pull the airbag to access the plugs. https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f...wheel/GxNf48fO
