M2 CS carwow vid. Think it has more than 450bhp

Look from 7:30 theres no way this has 450bhp, it supposed to have the M3/M4 Competition engine. Its against a tuned RS3 with 450bhp and 750Nm.

Thats behaving like a car with 100bhp more IMO.

I'm surprised that the owner of the old RS3 was happy for it to be mentioned that the car has had its cat removed, which is likely to be a criminal offence...

Probably usual under rating of engines if its putting out say 480bhp, doesn't have 4wd transmission losses and is lighter than the a45 then would be a good. bit faster.

I believe BMW understate the HP of most of their M engines. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the CS pushed out 480hp and the standard comp 440.

It is a potent engine in such a short wheelbase rwd car and on more than 1 occasion mine has broken traction in the dry in 3rd, you need your wits about you but it is a sublime driving experience.

Love the look of the CS but I do wonder whether it is worth such a hefty premium over the standard comp, if it was a 10k differential I might have been tempted.

My M4 is not tuned, and has been dynoed twice and both times it was around the 470-480bhp mark, so there are engines out there with a bit more than the 444bhp quoted. I've also seen a few dyno around 450bhp too, so it's not consistent.

I would be more sceptical about what powere the RS3 was really putting out. It was barely quicker than the A45 so it didn't look like it was doing anything like what was quoted, especially on the torque side of things.

Transmission losses would certainly explain a bit of why the M2CS sailed off completely once speeds got in to three figures.

In my experience, BMW understate their engine output and Audi overstates theirs.
