Help someone, help you.
So most people these day's are tech savvy and will most likely know this information already, however I thought it could do with been highlighted to bring awareness to those who don't know.
Most phones now can store information such as emergency contacts and medical information that can still be accessed when a phone is protected by a lock screen. This information can be crucial in a emergency situation allowing someone (emergency services or a stranger) to call your loved ones to inform them of any emergency you're involved in. So this example is from my Galaxy S9 (most Samsung will be similar), different phones on different platforms will have other ways of adding this information. The way to edit the info on an S9 is as follows. Click on phone. Click on Contacts. Click on your name. Scroll down and click on emergency contact. Then to add a emergency contact click on the pencil. To add medical info click on emergency medical information. To view the info - From the lock screen swipe up phone symbol Press emergency call. Hopefully nobody will have to use this option but it's very useful if they do. |
