Wow, that's quite a jump from the claimed. Have you found a similar test that they've done on any other S55 equipped car?

Not yet but for sure at a later date we will see .but many say that BMW claims less than the official specs.

I know BMW has been in the habit of claiming less than actual output, but 491 seems to be a higher margin than most:

Where it will cost more than new. This is BMW most desirable modern M car.

Most probably not. You would have to put them on the same dyno to be sure since dyno's aren't absolute. They all give different readings and should only really be compared to other cars on the same dyno.

So far ring times show that the M3/4 CS is still faster. M2 CS is in the 1:50's while the M3/4 CS is in the 1:30's. 20 seconds faster. Whether that is due to power is up to interpretation.

That's quite the power output. Weird to think the S55 engine is the same in all these variants but tuned to different levels. As easy and fun as after market tuning your car is, to have this at stock, under warranty, that's pretty nice.

It's just a tune.... the M4 GTS same S55 gives you 500hp
Stage II from Alex alpine or BM3 are more impressive.
Can not justify the price... i will wait for the G82 m4

BMW has typically underrated the HP and torque. Not surprised. Just a wonderful car!

BM3 if you want crap throttle response (I hated BM3 on my Supra). For a car like this, I'd rather keep it stock whereas on my Supra, it's full bolt-ons and Ecutek Racerom running E50.

Not really. Comparing apples-to-apples, AMS/SA supertest results the M4cs and M2cs are within 1 second of each other (both in the 7:42). It has to be noted that the M4cs was tested on a rather hot day and the M2cs was tested on the faster repaved 'ring, but nonetheless, I expect the M2cs and M4cs to be very close in terms of performance.

Pretty much same peak power, albeit with less torque for the M2cs (640N-m vs 580N-m). Below the AMS/SA dyno of the M4cs (same Maha dyno as the M2cs in OP):
