Is it possible to put a race chip/tune on a leased car?
Does anyone do this and doesn't effect the lease or doing so automatically effects it and voids the warranty? Im interested in leasing but also would love to tune if I can.
Thanks. |

Typically if nothing breaks and you revert it back to stock before visiting the dealership, they usually don't bother going out of their way to void your warranty. But ALSO YMMV here. |

Oh I also forgot to mention something important..
There was a Youtuber based in UK who purchased the car through a loan and BMW found out he had modded his car and violated the terms of his loan agreement. The end result was that BMW cancelled his loan and demanded a full payment of the vehicle in a week or they take away his vehicle. This may be dependent on the country that you live in and the terms of the lease/purchase agreement with BMW financial, but there could be a chance that BMW demands full payment of the vehicle like this guy here: This was based in UK and his vehicle was a purchase through a loan. Not sure how your lease agreement is written where you are |

Yes, you can add a piggyback and remove it before your dealership visit.

As long as you don't do a flash map its usually fine since you can remove it after. If you flash it then I've heard from real nightmare stories from customers.

Saw a message in here about doing some independent research first. Looks like it was maybe edited or deleted but just do your homework and understand what you're getting into if you decide to tune.
It's usually the ones selling the tunes claiming they're undetectable. BMW has been seriously cracking down on this lately and I can't say I blame them. As with anything you get what you pay for and a flash tune is going to be a higher quality but there's additional risks involved too.
