Horn intermittant

The horn on my 2014 F30 fails intermittently. Yesterday it was consistent that when the wheels were straight, the horn would not work but spin the steering wheel 180 degrees left or right and it worked fine.

Today it is working all the time.

Does anyone understand how the horn press is relayed to the electronics in this model? Is this a contact/wiper design or something more sophisticated? I want some idea before I go pulling the steering wheel off and disassembling.
