Hi

Does anyone know if 2.5" inlet to dual 4" exhaust tips will fit on an M340i if exhaust tip housing is removed and dual tips are welded onto stock exhaust?

For reference, I included a picture. Circled in red is what I'm referring to as exhaust tip housing, and circled in green is what I'm referring to as inlet.

Would something like these work: https://www.ebay.com/i/152614669614?...kaAlWZEALw_wcB

Thanks

(yes, I am aware they are not real Akrapovic)

This is the only thread where I've seen someone cut and weld new tips. There might be others....

I think the main problem is that the actual exhaust pipe outlet isnt round. Its a weird flattened oval type shape and it may be difficult for a fabricator to weld that to a round pipe. I dont know shit about welding but it seems like it would be a headache...

I've got a friend who's been welding for years that will do it for me no problem. He is aware of the oval. I just need to confirm fitment for the tips. As far as the inlet, does anyone know if I need 2.5" or 3" inlet?

It's 3" OD or larger IIRC, but in an oval shape. so 2.5" tips will not work without causing a restriction

I welded mine and it's kind of hard to do it with the way the stock exhaust is set up. I cut my stock piping back as much as I could (if I went any further it would've gotten to the curve part of the piping) so I'm going back and having the shop cut the muffler tip a little until I put on my Valvetronic Design Co exhaust going to be the first one 😈🤗

Quads look awesome on the M340 but the tips do stick out a little bit much IMO on this set up
