The G09 X8 / XM has been spied!

Based on our future BMW models info thread, the XM will be BMW's halo high performance SUV, with M45e as the entry level model.

As of this month, the X8 had been renamed to XM, with the same model lineup as previously known: a 45e hybrid and two different gas engines.

Start of production is likely July 2022.

For sure it will have better sales than an M sportcar, but it will be as exciting?!

My guess is it will be a maximum of 5 passengers with MASSIVE amounts of leg room, Move the 2nd row back about 6 inches.
More along the lines of a 7 series SUV as opposed to a luxury 3rd row SUV.

The idea of an X8 is certainly interesting but after seeing that picture... I'm not so sure anymore. I'll reserve judgment until some renders appear. BTW good eye to whomever that spotted it !

agreed...but i'm guessing there's some temporary cladding under that camo skin to hide the final lines / shape.

the only reason to build this is to compete with something like the lambo urus, right? it better end up looking more like a lifted M8 grand coupe then a shaved down X7.

They're sooo close to having the belt lines match the hood lines again

I've been waiting at least two generations for this, E82's are the last I think to have them match up before pedestrian blah blah death blah laws blah.

Remember that BMW is using a system where a single platform is used for ICE, PHEVs and BEVs. So this is probably a preview of the new BMW semi!
