Maybe because the RS3 was winning the poll and the mods didn't like it

It’s getting beyond ridiculous now. The moderation is out of control if we can’t even discuss cars. I hadn’t been on it for a couple of days, but I didn’t see any heated discussion on there.

Did someone say the RS3 trumped the other cars? Or that the Golf R was a little conservative?

Must have gone tits up quickly, there didn't appear to be anything untoward earlier on today. May as well close off topic altogether if everyone has to agree with each other.

I agree but this was essentially my concern when I started the thread about threads being deleted a few weeks ago. Some deletions might make sense to some people but it soon becomes a question of where do you draw the line; therefore, my default would still be to leave a thread open unless it's a clear breach of the forum rules. Have all the recent deletions been at odds with the published forum rules? Not at all convinced personally....

Agree, it’s getting stupid. Can we not find out who what and why is doing this?

I was beginning to think it was me, not finding threads I'd had a look at, and not around anymore.

It doesn't seem to be just the political threads. I have noted some topics go down hill very quickly these days, sometimes overnight.

Seems to me that the forum has taken a very significant change in direction and ethos over the past few weeks; all for the worse.

The appeal has left the building.

Someone mentioned Hyundai on the hot hatch thread. Maybe that killed it.

I mentioned a French car (two in fact) without having a negative Covid-19 test...

I don't miss the political and conspiracy theory COVID posts. But dumping the hot hatch thread and locking the COVID Humour thread is a bit much., It seems we cannot avoid the descent into farce like everything else in 2020.
