Mystery cable/connector

Found this unconnected wire in my trunk running off battery main power cable, anybody know what this is??

I have a slight feeling it's related to my paddle shifters not working, it's the same connectors used inside the steering wheel.

Anybody know what the hell this cable is? Where it's supposed to be plugged in?
