Fibre optic loop problem, usb & bluetooth not working
Hi, I have searched the forum & not found the answers i'm looking for, I would appreciate any advice
I Drive a UK E91 08 pre face, it has the 'professional' unit (non i drive) & the factory option for USB listed under vin lookup. the options are listed for USB on the stereo (insert usb) I am trying to find the fault within the fibre optics which is causing my Bluetooth and USB to not work. I purchased the car used and these have never worked. I understand the previous owner had put his own stereo in and swapped it back before selling to me. Everything else seems to work, including chimes for parking sensors. I have checked all the fuses & have pulled the fibre optic plugs out of the mulf2 and other unit next to it and no red light can be seen. also no light on the cd changer wiring plug. (don't have changer), or the little port on the bottom of glovebox. I might be doing something wrong though & perhaps i've missed a unit on the loop. My questions - I read that you have to reset the 'most bus'. not sure where to find it? and at what point do you reset it? What is the order of the fibre optics? i.e stereo>amp>mulf>stereo? Any other pointers would be great. Many thanks. |

IN the early models in the US the most connection was on the steering wheel
underside panel of course the steering wheel was on the opposite side here. Most test point http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=347222 |

Thanks, No red light at the back of the stereo optics although there was a few weeks back. I'll have to get the cable and software and have a look with that

Make sure the Fiber optic is plugged into the back of the Radio Main connector.
When people install aftermarket Radio's they sometime take the connector out. https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...4#post23244354 Go to this link entry 1 and look at the pictures of the connector is shows where the Two fiberoptic lines plug into the main connector . Later it shows then taking it out to install this box . Which is actually pretty good for the bucks I have one. |
