iPhone 3g, echo using bt

Hey Guys,

I have an iPhone 3g and it echos terribly when I try and use it through the bluetooth in my 335. I have read that this is a known issue but is there a fix out there?

Thanks!

Turn down the "Handsfree volume" on the phone until it doesn't echo anymore.

I can't find that in my phone. Is it only something you can access while on a call?

A search for "iphone echo volume" turns up this as the first hit:

Sometimes the adjustment of hands-free volume on the phone is necessary (only possible in an active call when connected via Bluetooth! Otherwise the toggle on the outside of the iPhone will only adjust the ringer volume or the speaker volume of the build-in speaker)

Increase volume all the way or until echo disappears. Posted multiple other places but thought this should have its own thread on this forum for quick ref.

Also BMW web site says that cars before 3/07 build may have problems in wi-fi is not turned off.

People on the other end will still hear the echo.

An echo of what they say, or an echo of what you say?

I don't have this issue on my 2006 E90, but did have a teeny bit of echo when I first got my 3G iPhone. I fixed it by maxing out the hands free volume on the phone. The ONLY area where my Razr was better was that it did a better job of leaving the car while keeping the call - my iPhone can't keep the call alive once it disconnects from BT (though I guess I haven't tried it since the 2.1 software - maybe it's fixed now for all I know.

While on the call go to the phone screen and select audio source, then choose iPHone instead of BMW#### and your call will be switched to the iPhone from BT.

Dayum! Just got a 3G and I was shocked it booomed and echoed so badly too. My Razor was pitch perfect. Thanks for the info, I will try the fix.
