How strong are 161 rims?
Just went over a pothole and heard the loud bang...damn...quickly went home and had the right front wheel jacked up and rotate it to see if it bend....luckily didnt notice any both inner and outer.
but the 'bang' heard inside the car got me worrying... anything else should i check? speed was only maybe 40-50km/h

Wow ... loud bang? Did you feel any wierd vibrations after? I believe the wheels themselves are strong, your immediate concern would've been your RFTs...you might want to double check your tires (sometimes the FTM is slow to pick up leaks) and maybe check for alignment.....

When I heard a loud bang over a pothole, there was 10psi in the rear tire. It had a slow leak from a cut. The wheel was ok, but the tire had to be replaced. I'd check it out as soon as possible.

KL2DC: nope, didnt feel anything unusual at the moment but i think its okay. i had 17"s with 205/40s tyres b4 on my previous car, went over some potholes with similar sound felt in the cabin, but turn out okay.
today, went to check out that damn pothole and it seems not too deep at all... but i sense that alignment and camber need to be re-check.

Hi bimmer 325i, are they a lot of pot holes in KL? I go to sibu/sarawak to visit my in laws regularly and the roads are undulating but not many pot holes there.
What are your views of the scrapping of the scenic/crooked bridge? Tun Dr Mahathir is really quite upset about his failed baby./ bridge project, isn't he? |

Well, KL2DC, personally, i did not go through a lot of pot holes in KL, hence i was surprised by his pot hole problem. no insinuations intended. Recently, we have bad roads in singapore too due to extensive MRT works that seem to last forever! best to inform the authorities to fix it.
