Ordered cars will not arrive BEFORE September.
Showroom cars MAY arrive sometime over the summer.

I dont think that is true. E92's will start production in June from what I hear and should be in dealerships beginning of August...

I am pretty sure about the date. I don't believe you will be able to "order" cars for the June production within the States. Although some showroom cars from the June production may appear stateside this summer for sale on the floor. You probably will be able to "order" cars from September production on ward.

Wonder if they will do with the showroom cars what they have done in the past with some new models - all the same color. I remember, almost, when the E46 M3 came out all the first showroom ones were the same color blue. I saw a picture of the NY port with rows and rows of identical looking new M3's.

And if so - what color.

At the Toronto International Auto show in February a BMW salesman told me that they were informed that production was supposed to start ramping up in July and that North American delivery would start in very late August or September.

Guys;
What Brett stated is correct.
U.S. dealers get a small batch of early production cars just to put on display. Yeah, you can buy one if you'd like when it gets here in July or August, but you'll pay M.S.R.P or more. Then the factories close down in August, so the REAL cars don't actually show up until October.

This is exactly the same way it happened for the E46 Coupe back in 1999.

The Regensburg E92 line wont close for August Holidays, because its a new introduction.

They did a similar thing with the E90, only some German lines closed for holidays, while others stayed open.

Didn't know that....well then, I would have to guess that most of the officially ordered cars will arrive in September for the U.S.
