Auto dim mirror sensitivity

Hi!

My auto dim mirror on my F11 LCI seems like it has low sensitivity. The car has OEM tinted windows. None of the mirrors dims, but if I take the flash on my iPhone on the sensor, it dims. Does anyone know if its possible to adjust the sensitivity on the sensor or something? It works perfect on my i3S, and this has also tinted windows.

JBBF 3080 isp heckscheibe

There is a post on bimmerfest about it. Also talk about side mirrors. Later cars might have the settings in a different module.

Yes, I saw the post on bimmerpost, and JBBF 3080 isp heckscheibe is already on "DUNKEL". I tried to change it til HELL, but nothing different. Any other ideas?

Do you have anything obstructing the rear side of the mirror that faces the windshield? Only asking because the dimming process takes in data from TWO different sensors. You have the sensor on the front side that receives data from vehicles driving behind you...but you also have an "ambient light" photosensor on the rear side of the mirror that facilitates adjusting the degree of the mirror's dimming function. (see #3 in the illustration below)

On a dark unlit road...the ambient light photosensor will cause the mirror to react differently than when you're driving at night in an urban/city area that is well lit with street lamps.

If you have something hanging from your mirror...it could be blocking that sensor...or if you have something applied to the upper portion of your windshield (strip of tint)...this could also affect the ambient light sensor.

Thanks for input. I tried with an G20 interior mirror today, and it worked perfect. It seems like the mirror from G20 er smart, since it was dimming whole different than the OEM F1x mirror. So now, everything works perfect, even when the glass are tinted and I have rollo/sunshade.

I think the sensor in the F1x mirror are less sensitive or the sensor are broken.

Don't know if it applies to you as I don't have tinted rear window. I have the issue of insensitivity, headlights are constantly glaring.

I put a piece of electrical tape in front sensor, covers it half way. I think this gives the setup an impression that it's darker outside, now the rear mirror reacts properly to my preference.

Yes, plug and play. I mounted the mirror in an M140i, but since it worked in my M550d too, I ordered one more. It will arrive Friday or Monday, so I can take picture then.

Its easy, but it won't fit cars before (regards to ISTA) 07/2011, since they have changed the mirror mount to the windscreen.

Just go to one of the online part database sites like realoem.com or bimmercat.com and pull up the diagram for the G20's rear view mirrors. Then scroll down through the part nbr index below the diagram and select the part nbr that is correct for the options your car has:

OP has the frameless option, which is an individual option. I'm unsure of if OP went with the G20 frameless or F30 frameless.
