Can I code a receiver to Logic 7?

Hey All,

2009 E90 335i with Logic 7. Receiver was having issues so I bought a used one. PN 6512 9199389-02.

Didn't honestly think about the coding, but it's just standard. Can I code it to Logic 7? It works fine but I don't have all my settings.

If I CAN code it, can it be done with Protool? I'm currently without a car laptop.

Best ask Bimmergeeks or the people on the coding sub forum.
Yes it can be programmed with the NCSexpert from standard tools
sometimes it requires the more expensive ICOM cable rather than the
K/D can cable.

If it works fine meaning there are sounds then what do you mean .
In NCSexpert you would code it to the factory setting's that are stored
in your car.

Sorry, I wasn't clear.

It just isn't a Logic7 unit. No Logic7 option and my subs don't work.

Your first post is all about Logic 7. And you literally say your car
has Logic7 in the first few words.

You need to find out what you actually have .
The general statements about programablity are still the same.

You can't change between the three basic BMW sound systems without hardware
changes that involve both wire harnesses and programming.
Three systems are
stereo (no amp Head Unit power only)
Hi Fi (Small 6 channel amp)
Logic 7 (9 channel amp fed by fiberoptic input from head unit)

My car came from the factory with Logic7. It's in the VIN.

The receiver I bought was the same part number, but was not coded as a Logic7 unit (even though the part number was the same).

Bimmergeeks helped me out. I used Protool to push the default coding from the car to the replacement receiver. Works like a charm.
