Ford's Big Brother system

darn i am so glad i didnt have stuff like this back when i was driving my parent's car.... soon enough someone's going to say "it worked well with kids, lets try the same thing for all drivers"....

oh and the little cartoon with the parents handing the kid the key looks hilarious!

MyKey looks like it sucks.

What happened to parents just teaching children not to be dumbasses, instead of having a Ford do it for them?

Guess I'd be a bad parent, but I'd never turn any of those options on for my kid.

I didn't have any of those on my parents vehicles. And my first vehicle could barely do 85mph. And 0-60 in 15 seconds.

after coming up with commercials with dad encouraging the kid to do burn outs in parkiing lots and cops having fun with a kid's mustang (if i remember this correctly), this is what they're doing now. are they confused or something?

Just think back a few years and look where electronics have come from to where they are going. An electronic door chime which a lot of us considered really obnoxious to cars that tell you your air pressure, control the power to your wheels if you accelerate/turn to fast, and analyze your breath to ensure you have not consumed an inappropriate amount of alcoholic beverages. Given a few more years, following distance, vehicle speed, acceleration.... will be controlled by the programming of the cars OBC. At least in the more "civilized" countries, the current (maybe next) generation of drivers will be the last to really have the experience and ability to drive a vehicle.
I'm not expressing an opinion as to good/bad, right/wrong, simply an observation.

80 mph limit still doesn't stop you from going 80 down a residential street.

Haha... Dumb.

If I want my kid to wear his seat belt I'll show him pics of my rolled over Evo and tell them my seat belt saved my life. I believe cops are there to keep them from speeding and if they get a ticket, the car is taken away. What happened to parenting? Ford trying to teach our kids now? lmao

yea i have a feeling ford's doing everything they can do ensure that they stay afloat... no matter how stupid the gimmick is they're probably going to try everything... otherwise you wont be hearing of the ford brand in another 10 or 15 yrs...

I would rather get this for my kid rather than a BMW. Maybe it will prevent him/her from being a tool in high school. Or driving like an idiot.

What? This would probably 'make' him that tool.

kid 1:"Dude, you got a car? Lets go!"

kid 2: "Nah man, the car I use has that limiter shit on it. Not even worth it, we'd look like chumps."

kid 1: "werd. lets get high and go shake babies."

It would go down, JUST LIKE THAT.

Kid looks like a monkey. Parents should have bought him a Porsche to bump up his ego.
