Interior Door Trim Help

Hi

I’m having trouble with my door trim staying attached to the actual door card. The black housing that holds the actual clips on the trim piece has broken. Im aware that you can purchase replacement clips, but I’m not sure what to buy to replace the actual housing, or what my alternatives would be. Thank you for any help

Get yourself epoxy and glue broken piece back together.. You can find a donor piece for the missing from any garbage item and shape to fit.. Adding support is not a bad idea.. I use this stuff a lot and it's nice to have it around when needed.. https://www.walmart.com/ip/J-B-Weld-...-8oz/132459371

Buy the replacement clips and glue them in place with some epoxy glue.

Once they are set you can put back the part as usual and you should be able to still remove it if you ever need to disassemble the door panel.

Thanks for the responses guys. I’ll try some epoxy/Jb Weld for now. I was hoping for a simple replacement part, the female piece that holds the clips themselves to the trim. But it seems like that piece just comes together with the whole door card. I’ll do what I can, in the meantime if any one else has dealt with this problem feel free to chime in. Thanks fellas

I actually couldn't find the specific piece I don't think on Real OEM but go search if you think you see it. Otherwise I would take the door card apart and disassemble it until I found a PN on the piece itself.

the problem with glue in this situation is that the surface area it's actually going to bond is very small.

If you don't want it to break off, used some fiberglass cloth with the epoxy. Sand the plastic with some 120 grit before you lay the cloth on it, and then wet the cloth down.

If you did a layer on the inside of that corner and a layer on the outside you could bond them together where your missing part is and then just cut the square hole out. Be fixed forever.
