F30 Battery issues.. Should I upgrade to a lightweight?

I have been running into battery problems lately. I do not drive the car much right now but only maybe a mile or 2 a day during the week. I have been getting a low battery message the past 2 weeks.

Even after buying a trickle charger about a week later the message re appeared. I am thinking if I HAVE to buy a battery, why not just upgrade to a lightweight one?

Any suggestions to save my current battery?

If by lightweight you mean Lithium Ion you'd need to code to use it, they're not drop in replacements. They also cost around a grand. As for the battery tender, if you only drive a mile or two a day using the tender once a week isn't enough.
