Simota Carbon Fiber Aero Form Intake?
Anyone ever see this thing before? Has e90 listed. I've emailed for details and pricing.

Did I actually find something first?
No response from them yet ... One thing that seems a little shady is they claim a 12bhp gain from a type of intake but they make this type of intake for many different cars. I doubt an intake would add 12 bhp let alone across the board. |

Hi guys
My first post here . Great site !!! I am from The Netherlands . i would like to share my opinion for this air intake . 6 weeks ago i visited a shop here which is the only one dealer of this air intake in my country . after a call i was there to check this thing out . cuz it wasn't very far away . that little shop is a bmw tuningcompany . they tune the E46 M3 and Z3 M coupe for races and also for normal customers bimmers. the M3 i saw was also equipped with this air-intake in carbon fiber. and the kit for our E90 out of the box they showed me , looked very sweet . but you have to pay 900 euro ( +/- 850 dollar ? ) for that little piece of carbon fiber which is made in TaiWan . that's a lot of money ! so i decided to wait for the K&N Typhoonkit . becourse it will be released soon ... how do i know that ? well becourse i let my car to be tested by the K&N Europe Import/Dealer last year in October here in Holland . i will be one of the two persoons who would receive this typhoonkit here in Europe first . that's before the sale of this kit . hopefully in next month May . the result of that test had maximum 6 hp gain on wheels of my 325i . in September 2005 they also tested a 330i with a 9 hp gain if i remember . it was a prototype of that K&N Typhoonkit they put in our cars . actually i was dissapointed of that result . so let's hope that the final product will be improved . greetings from the country of weed |

Or you could pay way less and get proven increase in numbers with the Britalman Intake.

Sorry man . i would only use the best Quality products . Britalman Intake is a name i have never heard before . as the other people here wondered , without any isolation for the filterhead , it could suck the heat of the engine into the intake while driving .

During dyno testing wasn't the hood open? I would think with a closed hood, and an 'off the dyno' scenario, temps / warm weather would warrant a heat sheild. Wouldn't hurt to throw a heat shield on there.
EDIT: duh! Britalman comes with an intake. I am sold on the Britalman @ this point, but that is awesome that your getting a K&N first production. |

Aaaaah that baby !! yours fibercus ? just can't resist that heheh
tested on a different dynosystem u would get a different result . i think there will be a lot of other brands air-intake's available later for our E90's . if the filter lets too much air through to the throttlebody , it's risky that the dirt in the air would damage the engine ! Good names as K&N and Green investigate the best balance . they put much times and money to design the best filter/air-intake . so i would not buy other unknown aftermarkets bargain for my expensive bimmer . anyone agrees ? peace and greetings from the country of weed :-) |

unfortunately I never had the pleasure of making it to Amsterdam .. yet!
Couple of friends of mine went after I got married and mailed themselves back about 40 envelopes of hash. Obviously very small and flattened. Some in birthday card envelopes, some in CD mailers. 13 of them actually made it through! Delivered right to their front door courtesy United States Postal Service. I enjoyed my taste of Amsterdam while it lasted. |
