Side loading apps?

Is there anyway to sideload apps either to idrive or AA?

I believe a fair bit of iDrive is based on QNX. Certainly many of the ECUs are. That's not Android and I expect getting past both the obscurity and security is a few orders of magnitude harder. On the other hand, perhaps BMW will open up an SDK for the more trivial-functionality apps at some point — I personally think they have enough software stability problems themselves even internally and are nowhere near ready to run a BMW 3rd Party App Store yet.

Ive always wondered if you can install apps offline or via coding/ISTA etc.
