My dad went out to the catskill mountains for a porsche run and i figured id join.....he lost control on a turn avoiding a deer and went down the cliff.....thank god he and my cousin only walked out with scratches and nothing serious..... Porsche Cayman's are one of the safest cars ever built and here is proof!

i lost my key fob while climbing up and down the cliff between the car and road so i had to get my car towed as well

and no i dont have a spare, its still at the dealership that im going on monday to pick up the extra fob

he gave him a bullshit speeding ticket that is just a fine and no points

how do u give someone a ticket after that? i think the accident gave him a wake up call more then the ticket did

dude... I know we always say that human > cars but damn those pictures made me sad... Thats incredible, that much damage done to the vehicle and barely any to the passengers, great job Porsche

this should be a wake up call for everyone that go up to the pocono or the catskill mountain runs..... 1 little simple mistake and your ass is tumbling down 40-50 feet, i have now made the choice to not be parts of these runs anymore because it would bring me back memories of me almost loosing my dad

wow i cant believe the cop actually gave your dad a ticket...thats such bs... i mean how does he even know your dar was speeding. maybe it could have been an animal or something on the road that caused the accident... i hate coppers like that. its bad enough that the car's totaled, he doesnt need a ticket as icing on the cake.

And yeah, about that ticket, I fully agree, who can give a ticket after that! If I was the cop, if I was to say anything I would probably give a simple "I'm glad you're OK. I know you've learned from this." That accident is punishment enough and would be a learning experience for anybody! A lot of us here have done the same thing (myself included) and have been a little too eager on curvy roads, I'll chalk this as another opportunity to learn further to not do stuff like this myself.

Good luck replacing the car, as that can be replaced, not your dad's and cousin's lives!
