might need a new battery help

i have a 2016 328 xi battery warning came on today
car has 36k miles
do i need to change battery if yes what brand and how many batteries does this car have

Battery warnings are usually caused by a combination of infrequent driving, short trips and cold temperatures. I have all three of those situations in winter, which I address by using a battery tender.

my car is outside in front of house can i use tender outside

You'd want to have it under the hood, hooked up to the charging posts, otherwise it will get stolen.
