Brake pad wear

Hi all,

I have 2.0d with the M-sport brakes. The car has just been in for an oil change and as part of the vehicle inspection they have said pads are 55%-60% worn.
Car has only done 11,000 miles. Is this amount of wear normal at such low mileage?

My last car 520d did 35k without needing changing.

Thanks,

Beware. Look at the pads yourself. Brake replacement is easy money for dealers.

Do you use assist systems (lane keeping, active cruise control)? Active assist systems consume brake pads. On some brands/models quite conspicuously.

I avoid using all assist systems for this reason, and because I don't perceive that they "assist" me with anything.
