CAR caught up with Lee Noble before he left the company, and he told us – in December 2007 – that the car was producing ‘480bhp with another 150bhp to come’. Which points to a total power output somewhere around 630bhp, although the power rating could be hinted at in the name.

That grunt comes from a Volvo (you read that right) engine: the V8 from the XC90, longitudinally mounted and breathed upon by two turbochargers. Drive will be sent to the rear axle, making this Brit sports car a potentially lively beast.

Why a Volvo V8? This engine was co-developed with Yamaha and is a relatively lightweight lump – and can be tuned to meet emissions standards around the globe. That’s an important attribute for low-volume car makers keen for access to worldwide markets.

Holy SHIT that's crazy! I'd change the wheels and front bumper though.

looks 100% better than the M15, and that was a beast. The M15 was such a great handling beast, I remember the topgear episode. I cant wait for final details on this thing!

Yeah, that's what bugs me. If they widened that middle intake, and I guess if they made the hood lines wider so that they still flowed into the intake, it'd look better.

Here's a really crappy photoshop of what I mean. On the left side are the normal hood and bumper lines. The right side has been pushed out a bit, and the headlights are slightly narrower. I wish there was a better version of this, but it's hard to mess with pictures when there's watermarks covering everything.

Much better ^^^ thanks...the current look reminds me of the 3 coupe with aerokit lip on the front. The 3 pulls it off well, but not a supercar lol.

Haha, yeah, I know what you mean. The thing is, the e92 has a pretty generic front. It just pulls it off well. That's why it looks similar I think. Many cars have that bumper design. For instance, the Jetta and Passat have similar overall bumper layouts to the e92, they just don't do it as well. My favorite thing about the 3's bumper is the part of my diagram that I starred. They have depth to them. Jettas and other various other makes and models have very flat ones instead.

I just realized that this response is actually more random and off-topic than a response to what you said...lol...

+1 on everything lol...Also, the 3 has a nice low wide stance compared to the VW models you posted, that helps. I dont like the huge silver front VW gives their models too, that really annoys me.

Did they steel those mirrors off of a porsche CGT?

I really like the new design overall... any idea on the price point? I have always been a fan of the noble minus the ford powerplant.

It looks like a slightly modified Spyker C8 to me. Just a different front end, but everything else looks the same.
