Cargo Tray w/ Space Saver Spare Question

Thanks to everyone on this forum, it's been a great source for me in deciding on my car. I have a an X3 X30i in production (PP, DAPP & HK) and I opted for the space saver spare. I wanted to order a cargo mat ahead of time and had a couple of quick questions....

1- What cargo tray are you using. It seems like most people on the forum like Weathertech or Maxspider

2- Is the lip on the cargo tray you're using high enough to prevent items from rolling out (my driveway is on an incline)

3- Did anyone purchase some velcro cargo net to use. I know one forum member is using these-

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks again for all the great info, looking forward to contributing once I finally have my car!

I have a 2021 X3 M40i with the Space-Saver Spare. Here is a picture of the cargo area with a Weathertec Cargo Liner. I don't know if you can see the lip and answer your angle question. The spare raises the cargo floor about 3 inches. With the spare option you no longer have the Movable Lashing Eyes, unless I just haven't figured out how to find them.

Thank you! Does the lip of the Weathertech help to keep items from rolling out? Did you add those cargo nets or do they come with the M?

I haven't tried them (still waiting for my X3), but a forum member uses these nets.

There really is no lip on the hatch end of the cargo liner. At most it is 1/4-1/3" high at that point. There are "lips" on the other three sides, but not at the back.

The cargo nets did not come with the vehicle order. Amazon: TENACHI 2 PCS Universal Car Cargo Net Trunk Storage Pocket Elastic Seat Back Add On Organizer Mesh Pouch Bag Velcro Cargo Netting Wall Sticker 15.7 x 9.8 inch / 40 x 25cm.

User CP (Control Panel), Edit Your Details. Not sure if you can do this with your IOS app. I did it long ago on my Windows PC.

Thank you. I guess I could go with the WT tray that includes the bumper protector (or add the cargo blocks) which would probably prevent anything from rolling out.

Thanks! Do you find the bumper cover useful?

On occasion I have need to transport bulky items, yard waste, etc. Did the same in the Lexus I previously owned and scratched the bumper a couple times. Thought the extra protection was worth the cost.

Might be quite useful to prevent items from rolling out on an incline. I leave cover in for my convenience. You can always unsnap cover from the mat and remove if desired.

Does BMW make an OEM cargo mat that fits with the spare tire or is the Weather Tech one the only one that fits?

So there's no way to attach a cargo net that goes across the floor? Hmmm.

You have the fixed ones where you can attach the net. But you loose the cargo rails with the raised floor.

Where did you get those cargo nets for the side pockets?
