Hello

Just put a deposit on a 2021 M340i (5U99 in Canada) with the 3M2 red calipers. Already installed on the vehicle in stock so went with it.

Doing some research on winter wheels and tires and can't find clear answers. Any help would be appreciated. This is my first BMW, excited to own one but don't want to be driving around with 19" rims in the winter in Montreal.

- Are the red calipers and brake setup same as the standard blue calipers?
- Can I drop an inch and go with 18" rims and 4 225/45R18 (same size all around) OR do the red calipers restrict me?
- 18x8" wheels are good enough or do I need to go to 18x8.5"?
- And how do I make sure there's no issue with space needed for the calipers? What wheels specs do I need to keep in mind, eg. Offset?

I found these rims looking online, site says they fit the M340i, but do the M sport red calipers cause an issue?

You shouldn’t have any issues with 18s, but you can’t do 17s. The red calipers are the same as blue ones, just a different color (at least here in the US).
18x8 ET+25 is very close to the stock 18” square setup.

Thanks so much. What's the ET on the stock square 18" setup for an M340i? Hard to find that info. The package I saw on bmw.ca is for a staggered config. Dealer confusing me. Indicated the red calipers (3M2) are slightly larger than the stock blue ones. And you're right, the wheel configuration also recommended 17" setup but no specs on offset etc.

18” OEM wheels can be staggered or square. Square 18” are 18x7.5 ET25 I believe.
Maybe in Canada the red brakes are bigger? Like M Performance brakes.

18" should be fine based on BMW Canada web site, approved cold weather wheel packages:
