Can I use a CA CAS on a non CA car

I picked up another car today that the kid started parting it out. He sold the DME, CAS and key. I found another set but it was for a comfort access car. I want to know if the comfort access CAS can be reprogrammed to work on my car. I can use the CA key for another one of my cars I retrofitted.

Comfort Access require a bunch of Hardware like a control Unit and Special Door
Handles , multiple antenna's and wiring harness and then the programming.
The CAS and DME are not part of the special comfort access component's as
far as I know the programming for the Two keys you get does go into those components though.

The second pdf explains comfort access.

I know that. I want to use a comfort access CAS on a car without comfort access. I'm not try to add comfort access to the car. Just need to get it running

I retrofitted comfort access into another car and still need to get a CA key for it. I've got extra non comfort access keys I can have reprogrammed if it will all work.

You are only allowed two comfort access keys per car .(at a time)
Because there are only two programming spots allowed.

As per
https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=903551
See entry 13 it gets complicated to program these.

I read that post. When I did the retrofit I swapped the entire chassis harness from a comfort access car. Door harnesses, antennas, all modules, etc. That car starts and runs with non CA keys so I'd use the CA key for that car and the keys from that car for the one with the comfort access CAS. I've got 3 335i's right now I'm building but have parts from a bunch of others. Yes, it's getting a little ridiculous.

If you are swapping these between cars then one of the problems is the milage
differences between the cars causing the tamper light to come on .
Usually happens with the Instrument Cluster swaps but the Cas and DME also
have some mileage data .
There are many threads on this here if you search.

As far as I know there is no difference between the CAS it just is or isn't programmed for
comfort access.

That's what I needed to be sure of. I know the mileage is programmed in the cluster and dme. My coding guy is sorting all that out. Car 3 is a bit of a cluster of coding. I just need to make sure the CAS will work and I can leave the rest up to him. He's out of town right now so I couldn't get ahold of him and want to get the new stuff ordered asap
