Hi all,

Has anyone got a clue to what is causing my problem.

I installed a mmi box with reversing camera, Install went well, Everything worked as it should.

Some times I turn the car on, everything boots up as normal & car play comes up on the screen, Other times I turn the car on & idrive screen stays blank or a red screen & instrument cluster rev counter doesn't work, fuel tank needle moves up & down erratic. Park break light flashing, SOS malfunction comes up. Also when its doing all this its takes 5 mins to be able to lock the car with the key fob, mirrors wont fold in when locking the car when they normally do.

Then the next day it will all work fine.

I have removed the mmi box & put everything back to standard, & all working correctly now for the last two days.

So it must be the mmi box, The 3 connection methods on the mmi box, for my car was low speed can connect to dvd, The other method was low speed can connect to idrive, Which worked until I connected the heater control, then this option would cause a error on the screen from the MMi box.

Sorry for the long tread, But can not get my head round this.

It's the canbus. One of those wires is terminated no? I'm trying to remember from my install but I had the same issue until I switched the connections around.

I've sorted it, I took it all out & had another go, All seems fine up till now.
