How to fix shiny door panels from leather conditioner?

Not realizing that the door panels are not covered in genuine leather, I applied the BMW leather conditioner to them. This made them shiny. How can I get rid of the shine? Should I just let it be and it will disappear after some time? Should I wipe them with some kind of cleaner?

Have you tried wiping with a clean, dry microfiber cloth? That may do the trick.

I have the same kit and I used a microfiber to wipe away excess when applying it to my leather.

I've been told a moist towel followed by a dry one should work fine.

I used a microfiber cloth to wipe off the excess after applying it. Worked fine for the seats--their surface is matte. Did not have the same effect on the door panels. I'll try the moist/dry towel technique. Nothing should go wrong with applying water, right?

quick fix.. two options;
  1. 99.9% Isopropyl sprayed on a microfibre cloth, then quickly/lightly wipe the surface. Word to the wise, don't dwell in one area for too long as you could start pulling the dye out of the material.
  2. Or, use the BMW interior cleaner on a microfibre cloth which should remove most of the conditioners that are sitting on the surface causing the shininess. Link below:

I'd use a microfibre towel damp with warm/hot water and try.

If that doesn't work, then a dab of hand soap.

Then wipe off (not buff) with a dry microf.

Yep, I know. Learned the hard way when trying to remove a permanent marker line off of our leather sofa. The lighter spot is still there.

Use the Maguires interior trim cleaner. It does not leave a film or dull interior plastic, vinyl etc. I use it all the time for scuff marks from foot on door panel or on lower dash.
