New M4 with x drive will be impressive then as he clearly struggled on the damp track

Highlights how good looking the old M4 was, to me.

I think this shows the M440i/M340i are great alternatives to the full M imo, for someone like me that just wouldn't get to push an M car.

A tuned M340i would take some catching over the quarter mile.

That old M4 looks so much better, taking the obvious front end out of the debate the whole car looks so much better proportioned. The wheels on the M4 and M3 look lost on the new models, mind you, São Paulo Yellow doesn't do much to disguise them.

Early days I know, I'm sure it won't be long before we see some aftermarket options making the newer models a bit more pleasing on the eye.

Back on topic... the old M4 does hold its ground pretty well

I can't help but think the old M4 had at least a stage 1 tune of some kind.

Defo it has a sticker on the window assume it was some kind of social media handle - can't find the car though.

It has springs, loads of carbon and MPE etc so doubt it's stock engine wise as well.

I saw a new m440i in the works car park. 50 odd year old slim single lady. previous owner of a slk 2012.
First glance I liked it grille didn't look offensive, went up to work, then in the evening I realised when I came down that it was a bit of a bloated, not very bmw like. there was an old 4 series in the car park which looked so much sharper.

If you drive on paper yes, they feel different on the road at any speed and that's what you pay for the experience, calories are calories right? Wrong.

I'd settled down, got a drink and was ready for the full description there...

I thought he meant the lady had become bloated. Perhaps she had a bout of IBS or something

I dropped my 440i off at the garage the other day for a service. They had a M440i outside in dark blue (didn't notice the owner &#128525 I would agree that the shape looks bloated, it looks odd. I would need a M performance body kit to make it 'purposeful'. Don't even mention the front as even with a dark colour I still hated it.

The dealer tried to get me to agree to a valuation on my car in preparation for a new purchase. I said to him, there is literally nothing in your line up that interests me at the moment apart from a X5 45e and that is far too expensive. Shame really but the 440i rolls on...great car. 5 years old last week and 83000 miles

Have to say in that colour the new m4 did not look as good as the old one at all.

I just can't really see how they can make it look better unless the do more than a bumper and light update.

Looks like a m4/340i with tuning box would be able to hang on to the coat tails of an m4 in a straight line just about.
I have already checked with racechip and their boxes still give the same power increase with the mht tech

Off topic, so apologies, but saw a new shape, alpine white 4 series coupe in the metal for the first time yesterday, and it's a f***ing fright, from all angles

Seems I'm the only one who likes the new 4 series.

Probably the only one getting bored by these Car Wow drag races. I'm sure they are still getting the views on YouTube and bringing in the revenue but I'm bored of them now.

Just come back from a walk at Brandon park, Thetford. There was a m440i in dark blue in the car park.
I thought it looked awesome to be fair. Had to go look around it from all angles.

Taking a different perspective, one cannot fault Car Wow for having a revenue model to pay for other videos which are more informative.

I agree - these drag races have no correlation to how a vehicle is driven in the majority of circumstances. Hollywood makes lots of movies which generate plenty of revenue and have no resemblance to real life. Human desire to practice safe escapism has been monetized for as long as one can remember.

I like the drag races, but the banter at the start just goes on way too long. No need for over 10 mins of video for action that lasts a few seconds. I skip a few mins from start these days.

I must admit I quite like it now after being unsure at first. For me it looks better with the grille edges in black as per the pics below
