Audi Bling Bling

Yesterday a MY09 Audi was behind me for a couple of miles. Those LED DRLs that everyone seems to be having OMG's over didn't excite me at all.

I think the issue for me is that the LEDs themselves are too big, too bright, and spaced too far apart. If they were not so bright and closer together so that they would look like a soft, white line then I think they might look good.

As they are now, they look too bling. They look kind of cheap, like something you'd get from Pep Boys. I have a feeling that they will be boring very soon. And all the Ricers will be copying this for sure anyway. The Bimmer angel eyes are really by far so much classier and subtle.

The other thing I noticed is that when the turn signal light goes on, a section of the white LEDs disappear and are replaced by the amber signal lights. It looks weird, like something isn't working correctly.

i love the audi LEDs. every time i see an S5 in my rear-view mirror i say to myself, damn that car is sexy.

to each their own, i guess.

Few normal cars hold the same road presence in the rear view view that an A5 does with those LEDs.

The only thing I have wrong with it is that now all Audis are getting them, sort of diluting the impact and appeal.

If they didnt have LED DRL I dont think you'd notice them while driving. Thats like one of the appeals of driving an A5/S5, the DRL attracts the attention of others.

they look like the lights from a christmas tree!! Very kitch!

they do it for me, but i still don't like the COW in the front.

There's also another positive for Audi doing this... in a few years, every Civic, Focus and Neon will be rocking some sort of LED bar in the headlights. Angle eyes will no longer be cool to the ricer crowd.

Just like the angel eyes I keep seeing on every single civic, toyota or whatever else is out there.... So what is new?

the DRL in LED are very unique and now the Audi corporate signature, they way Angel eyes are for BMW..

they make every Audi stand out, I think they are great.

I like the styling of the new audis tho.
