How many people here use their i-drive to do anything other than the radio and sat-nav. I use the heater control on the dash, I use the programmable buttons on the radio to change modes or radio stations.

I think buttons are less confusing and distracting than i-drive could ever be.

Though I don't like the look of this dash at all.

No longer applicable to iDrive 4.0.

And yes, buttons are easier to use. And yes, they do look uglier. And yes, some function is sacrificed for form with all-in-one media devices. But hey, there's a good compromise between the two, and I think this is too much.
