Stupid question here but on the Brembos can you machine the rotors or once the pads and rotors wear out you have to buy new rotors too?

I know the stock brakes are a use 'em and chuck 'em style and you cannot machine the rotors.

Anyone have a idea of life of the brakes if used on the street only?

What pads do the brakes ship with?

I have actually not heard of anyone machining the rotors....
The drilled or slotted rotors are not recommended for resurfacing.
As for the pads, they ship with the premium Brembo pads. (not sure what compounds they are).

the life of the pads for street are pretty standard. Most of our customers go with Brembos for the track and the pads go through much much faster during track use. Some opt for 3rd party pads such as PAGID.

Julius, is it more common for people to buy both front and rears or just fronts alone? Drawbacks to doing fronts alone?

Thanks!

Basically, the brake bias between the front and rear has been matched by Brembo and bascially, stronger braking in the front does not always mean shorter braking distance overall.

I think that there was great write up on this somewhere. Can't find it now... but I am sure that someone else will...
