Transponder / RFID tag on windshield

Hi folks,

Couldn’t find any X7 specific info on this so was wondering if someone could help. I need to place a rfid sticker/transponder on my front windshield that will allow me to get through a gate. It is very similar to the toll pass in some states (CA-fastrak, FL - EzPass?).

I was told there may be a specific spot on the windshield that will allow it to go through the windshield, perhaps behind the rear view mirror or on the top edge of the windshield? Anyone do this successfully?

Sorry for the angle but wanted to get a reply before I pass out LOL.

I have my office RFID sticker (rectangular strip) placed above my city sticker (red square) on the left side of the windshield. Works well and no issue so far. The white transponder is the EzPass I use for ExpressLanes and next to the rear view mirror.

I have my RFID Gate sticker on the windshield right behind the rear view mirror and it works fine.

Mine is set up the same way in my X7 and M550 with no issues!

My OCD never liked any of these transponders mounted on the windshield. So I put my EZ Pass on the frame of the HUD on the dash so I could not see it while driving. Then I bought one of those EZ Pass "blackout" kits from eBay so I could not see it from outside the X7. The pics below show the EZ pass mounted before and after I installed the blackout cover on the EZ Pass….

It is just "stuck" on the bezel of the HUD screen with the included Velcro strips…

Anyone try the bottom right windshield? The receiver for my gate is on the right side of the car so that would be the ideal spot. Will try it out tonight.
