Sorry for the slow reply; I'm checking with Race Chip to see if this chip can be used on the 40i. Get back as soon as Race Chip replies.

Race Chip called back. For my Chip (X7 M50i), it would have t/b sent back to the factory. The factory would swap out the harness (to fit 40i) and upgrade the software. You would have to pay the shipping to them. They would absorb the shipping back to you. Quoted cost is $149.00. With this in mind, send me a PM and I'll quote you a discounted price based on above. Thought: If we can reach a price agreement, I could send Chip to factory. Once completed, they'd drop ship to your address.

Hello Dan,

Thank you for contacting the RaceChip Customer Service.

Each RaceChip is programmed for a specific engine. Therefore, you can only keep using the same RaceChip in another car if the engine specs (cm³ and kW/HP) are exactly the same.

As soon as there is a difference in the engine details, the software of the RaceChip has to be adapted to the new one - often the cable needs to be changed additionally as well.
