Does this have track handling pkg?

Hi guys I was looking into buying this 2018 340i this weekend. It has Every single option on it according to the owner. Has the 6Wb digital cluster and the MPPSK kit. His wheels are different though I haven't seen them on any other 340's listed and it also has Red Brake calipers. Can someone tell and see if this one has the track handling package?

I would suggest you run the VIN through a decoder.

Wheels could be after market, and just painted the calipers. Track handling calipers are usually colored blue, well at least the ones i've seen but i'm not 100% sure. A vin decoder is going to be your best bet.

The only red calipers are M Performance or ones someone has painted.

Yeah, hard to tell from visuals. See if you can get a pic of the front end, if the car has foglights it does not have the package. Fog lights were deleted to provide cooling ducts for the brakes.

That being said, I don't know that having that setup automatically means it has the track package, but not having that particular bumper would say for sure that it does not.

Concur with the advice to look it up with a VIN decoder.

Besides the brakes being the wrong color (which could have easily been painted) the brake calipers and the rotors look a little small for the Track Handling Package. Even with 19" wheels the rotors and calipers on my THP car pretty much fill the space inside the front wheels.

The pictures aren't very clear so it's all guesswork at this point. Only running the VIN will tell you for sure.

+1 on likely being aftermarket wheels, painted calipers, and using the VIN decoder. Those are not the 398 orbit grey wheels that come with the Track Handling Package.

Track handling has no fogs so that's a big indicator. Also adaptive suspension is part of the package.

Yeah I mean he had it listed for a while for over 40k now he came to his senses and I brought him down on the price

Sure, but if the track handling package is a big priority for you, it's probably better to find a car that already has it. Retrofits are not cheap, and in many cases, not easy either.

I would say the additional oil cooler and adaptive suspension would be difficult to retro- brakes are easy (if $$... just buy the mperf brake kit for $1800).

Yeah I would focus on what exactly you are looking for. IIRC track handling was- adaptive suspension, additional oil cooler, m sport brakes, special wheels+mpss non runflats.

By now the tires would have been changed anyways so that's a moot point, and its also possible to get the adaptive suspension and or the m sport brakes as solo options. Whether the additional cooler is that important to you or not is up to you.

If it were me id skip focusing on track handling and just making sure the m sport brakes are on the car you like, or plan on buying the mperf upgrade - best way to check is the 2 piston fixed rear caliper. The rest are take it or leave it imo- especially if you plan on doing any modding.

Hmm no adaptive LEDS option that comes in the executive package so I guess it doesn't have that

It looks to be an import from Canada. The car looks identical to mine, except I have the adaptive LEDs.

Why are you so dead set on the track handling package? Are you going to track it? The base 340i brakes are great already.

I have a f10 right now and it's a smooth ass ride and wanted some of that in the f30 too with the adaptive suspension. But I did test drive it without too and it's really not that bad.

I have adaptive LED, this one doesn't.
My 2017 has the regular needle gauges, this 2018 has the digital cluster.
I don't have the side skirt extensions yet, this one does.
I have the MPPSK, can't tell if this one does, as it doesn't show up with the VIN. Ask for a rear picture of the exhaust.

It should have come with the 403M 19" staggered wheels, ask the owner if they still have them.
