Prep for seal and wax

What is the best way to prep for a repeat application of a seal and wax (say CG JETseal109 and CG Butter Wet Wax)? I have heard the following:

1. Non abrasive "polish"
2. Dawn soap
3. McGuires Deep Crystal System Paint cleaner
4. Nothing

Surely it makes sense to try to remove any remnants of either previous wax or previous Jetseal. I am not keen on #1 since my paint is in great condition with no swirls, haze, scratches, etc.

You could use dawn or a high concentration of CG Citrus Wash. Basically something to just get the old wax and stuff off. Also recommended to clay the car to get rid of contaminants.

I haven't had time to detail my two week old car, yet. However, I clayed the bumper and half of the hood today.

If the car has not been clayed, yet, it needs it. I picked up a significant amount of junk off of the paint. I was really surprised.

I would clay also every 6 months along with the new seal. Some people also use diluted ethanol around 25% before the sealer.

That's exactly what I would do since I have CG Citrus Wash.

Don't see that particular product on their wash products page. Do you mean the, "NO MORE BUGS & TAR HEAVY DUTY SHAMPOO -STRONG WASH"?

is this clay safe.. i mean safe for someone like me who is far from professional detailer?

I do have the waterspots as it must have been left outside for a while at dealer and Zaino AIO did not remove..

Is it ok to clay a new car? which one to use? what do you do after? any wax or polish? by hand is ok?

I just purchased CG Citrus Wash. Is this okay for weekly washing? Seems like it will only remove wax in high concentrations but I just wanted to check.

TIA
