I personally wouldn't want to raise the redline on any of my build except if you built your internals accordingly.

If you didn't modify the internals of the engine, chances are you have absolutely zero to gain by raising the redline RPM. You would only need to do this if you changed camshafts. Since there are no aftermarket N55 cams, I'm going to say that you do not need to raise the redline RPM. Also, stock internals might not be able to spin that fast without failing.

yeah but you haven't said what you did motor wise to support an rpm increase. the stock motor can't do more rpm without failing

Ya can we know more about the build? What was done? I wouldn't touch anything with the rev limit with that set up. I doubt you're gonna struggle making power, 500 rpm isn't gonna net you a whole lot of anything but more reliability issues.

Maybe you just want to do it no matter what.
The concensus is that you shouldn't except if you built the internal to support the extra RPM. I never increased RPM even on my race built engines, an extra 500RPM isn't going to change much but will stress the engine and reduce reliability. Reving a 7,000RPM is stressing the engine enough. A dyno pull will tell you if your engine is still making power at a redline or not to warrant thinking about raising the RPM limit. Or maybe you just want to do it an not hear about any warning.

You're best to reach out to someone who actually tunes these cars, I don't think anyone here has ever had the urge to raise the rev limit, most are on stock turbo around here, you're not gonna get much info here, especially when you don't answer anyone elses questions, sorry mate

who says I don't know?
but figured since.youre obviously running a bukt and balanced race motor with a cam upgrade that you'd be able to figure it out... cause that's the only way you'll make power with a higher Rev limit and not blow it up.

The guy comes in asking, we wanna know more about a build that looks wild, he wants help, posts a pic of his set up to ego flex for attention, and still ask for help like he's in disbelief we wont answer him but wont answer anything himself.
Nobody is gonna benefit from an rpm lift of 200-500 On stock cams non built engine etc etc. it's not common, whether anyone knows, don't carry an attitude of disbelief when you don't get an answer to something literally so so uncommon. His tuner could point in the right direction. I doubt the build is even his based on that alone. Sorry mate we asked polite questions. |

motor you see is stock. but it does not matters because its a test motor. and i am pretty sure that stock can rev 200-500 rpm more without any problems. maybe without any profit but ..) please what questions more i need to answer before i get help ?
