Hello all,

My oem front bushings are shot / cracked, so I'm looking to upgrade them.

I originally was planning on the F80 control arm + strut kit from bimmerworld. They changed the f80 bushings to powerflex ones, which apparently fully corrects the caster issue. However, I was informed by another user on here that the powerflex/poly bushings are known to squeak and should maybe be avoided.

https://www.bimmerworld.com/Suspensi...Assembled.html

So I'm trying to find some more info on that, regarding the poly.

Also looking for some input from people who have done this mod and their experience.

Looking for all recommendations regarding changing the lca / struts

How about monoballs? Or just leaving the regular f80bushings in? Is there still a caster issue with the tension struts?

Also, will all of this fuck with my insurance?

Thanks

I've only done the F80 control arms (both arms) with the normal bushings, not the Powerflex bushings.

They are fine and I don't have an issue in terms of NVH. They are a huge improvement over the stock control arms.

Do you have any issues with rubbing do to the caster change? I'm lowered on dinan springs and running the 19" thp rims. Just dont wanna throw them on then realize i have to change it, and throw more $$ at it

I did the thrust arms with monoball bushings in my car. Definitely helped with steering feel and doesnt change geometry like f80 arms do.

Interesting. Hows the harshness with the monoballs? I'm in Houston where the roads are awful and filled with bumps and potholes, so the nvh is a concern of mine

I didn't really notice a difference.

Thanks. One last question, does a modification like this have any insurance related implications? I'm fairly new to all this
