11-8 map drivability brief review

aloha everyone!
so i went ahead and uploaded the new maps and

RATTLE: upon start up you definitely get to enjoy the sweet purr of the engine without the distracting rattle. the stupid rattle at idle on cold starts are gone! man, this whole time i thought it was normal because after a min the rattle would go away. it was embarrassing in parking garages because the noise would echo off the walls.

Drivability: this is what i like most so far on this update. mainly the jerking/bucking the car would do when you let off light throttle at low/cruising speeds. i am so f*ck'n happy that this shit stopped. i mean, it was definitely livable, but now i dont need to change my driving habits during those situations to try avoid the bucking. i know shiv said it would just greatly decrease but i haven't been able to replicate it yet.
Up-shifts and Throttle Response feel more direct and sure of its self when you get back on the throttle. i dont know how to explain it but the slight feeling of "play" in the throttle is now gone. when you go from a cruise=>full throttle that split second "dead silence" has be greatly reduced. i have just an intake and forge diverter valves and would of never imagined to have that reduced so much. i have to really pay attention to notice it, but hey when you pay that much attention to anything .1sec feels like 1sec. hopefully when i put the AR catless DP's on today it will increase response even further. i really dont know how Drivability can be improved any further but shiv says it will. can't wait.

Power: all in all feels similar to the last one. just when you add the refinement of the drivability and throttle response it can be slightly deceiving in terms of actual acceleration since it feels slower due to everything being far more smooth. but definitely isn't because that needle moves. im on stage0 at 85%...i had to raise it up to get back to the PSI i was at before since shiv did say it was set conservative to concentrate on drivability. gas quality here i think hinders me from using stage1 at the moment. hopefully when the weather starts to cool down some(85day/65night) i'll be able to do.

so i strongly recommend updating. have fun a be safe everyone!

Thanks for the info. I'm still on 3.0. Does anyone know when 3.1 will leave its beta status?

To the OP: If you have an intake, you should run the stg 1 maps. It's funny cuz with each update I think the car couldn't be any smoother but, somehow it gets better. I like the new iat compensation too. I feel like the car goes faster with less effort. A FMIC is without a doubt going on before summer comes around.

i tried running stage1 but for now when i run above 13.5psi especially when its up top, car feels like its trying to hard. its because of crappy gas and weather here right now. last night in 65* weather i noticed its sweet, but in 75-85*its not. so i just run stage0 for now just to keep it power consistency. when i get the DP's on later today i'll try stage1 again :-). thank you for checking up on it though ;-)

I usually drive conservative, but I have to say with these new updates and the smoothness of the car, its hard not to drive like a ANI-MAL!

+1

And if you look back at the history of map & firmware releases from Vishnu, I can't find any of the so-called "beta" firmware & maps which had any significant changes before being released as final versions.

IMO, Shiv & Co are pretty careful about what they release even as beta software. That last release that only had issues in an extreme dragstrip scenario with a stage 3 setup (which most users aren't running) was an exception. I have not (nor has anyone else i have seen) had issues with any beta or other software release from Vishnu. Of course, I also tend to be fairly meticulous about following instructions from the manufacturer, of course...

My recommendation would be to do the update and get on board. The benefits are enormous!!

The new beta maps are good and happy that they are generally well received. But a couple of people at higher altitude have thrown limps. Currently working that out now.

I just downloaded the maps and firmware file(11-8). Also did not have the procede user software on this new laptop. Downloaded the Procede 2.0 User software, then downloaded the new 3.1 exe and placed it in the 2.0 files folder.

I think I am good to go, just need to get to the connection, update firmware and upload the new Stage 1 non-doomsday. Will try to fit it in this weekend.

I assume the procede reader software still saying 2.1 in the title bar was just missed on the update and has not been fixed yet.

Thanks guys. You have convinced me to update again.

Yup, the PROcede Reader software still says 2.1. I just uploaded the stage 1 non-doomsday 11/8 map & firmware file.
