F36 power sockets under glove box?

Hi there,

I've read that on F30 and some other F series cars have a hidden power socket under the passenger glove box.

I'm hoping to plug my phone charger into that one instead of the socket by the cupholders. But when I looked under the glove box, there doesn't seem to be a power socket there. There is a hole that looks similar in size, but it's slightly bigger so the charge won't stay in.

Can someone please let me know if the F36 doesn't have a socket there? Thanks.

All cars have the hole. If you don’t see the power socket then your car didn’t come with that option.

Yep, I have a socket there too. Not described in any user manual, hidden feature

Another charging option is the armrest USB.

Was it an option? Do you remember which package?

I thought it was standard for certain model years and at some point it was dropped, but the hole remained.

My '16 F32 has the actual power socket.

I believe it's this option:

S575 Additional 12V sockets

Thanks guys. It looks like my car didn't come with a power socket there, even though there is a hole.

The extra power socket is standard on US cars. Canadian cars don't have it.

Yup because I thought a mini fridge would be nice there but somehow my wife doesn't think so. :
