heated/ventilated seats

Just got my 2022 X6 xDrive40i 2 days ago.
Today, I pressed on the heat/vent button. then pressed on vent. seat started warming up.
I'm like whaaat. then realized once I pressed the button it engaged heat as well.

it strikes me as super odd that system is allowing enabling both heat/vent at the same time.
I can engage level 3 on both at the same time.

Check your climate rules...the 'on' setting for the heat may be enabled there automatically.

FWIW, the heat and vent functions help on a long trip to prevent sweating into the leather on a cold day, but definitely not on a warm one!

It wouldn't make sense if the seats were literally actively cooling...but, they are just ventilation fans moving ambient air through.

Personally, I see no problem with having both on if it suits your needs, and I do use both in the winter on longer trips.

Remember they are ventilated, not cooled. Big difference. That's why both modes are allowed at the same time.

I have seen a number of folks that purposely turn them both on at the same time because they feel that the seats get heated faster/more evenly with the air moving through the seats.

Makes sense - just like a furnace in a house, you want to get air moving over the heat source in order to circulate it quicker!
