Radar Detector False Alarms

We recent purchased a 2021 X5 and a V1 gen 2 radar detector (using a Blendmount mirror mount). We recently went on a trip and the V1 performed really well. Most of the traveling was done during the day. However, on the way home we completed our trip when it was dark. We noticed that we were getting false laser warnings on a very periodic basis. The warnings suggested that the laser was in front of us. From what I understand, the false warnings due to gesture control make it looks as though the laser is behind the vehicle.

Does anyone know what might be triggering these warnings?

I may have solved this issue by making sure that the radar detector sits as far from the windshield as the mounting bracket will allow, but I am not sure if this is a permanent fix.

Thanks in advance for your comments...TXMAV

Thanks for your response. I read those posts (I even posted in the thread). However, they relate to the false warnings due to gesture control. The false warning due to gesture control triggers the laser detection in the rear. My false warnings are such that they look as though there is a laser in front of the vehicle. I guess it could have something to do with light detection.

I did more testing. I found that: (1) the issue occurs in the day or at night; and (2) if you play with how far forward/back the detector is situated in the Blendmount bracket, it effects whether the problem occurs or not.
